Evan Carydakis is Movin’ On in style

Evan and I have chatted on the phone once before – to talk about his then new EP Groove House – and we got on like a house on fire.

This second chat, about his latest single – Movin’ On – was no different. Well it was, because Carydakis sounds even more confident and self-assured. And that confidence is reflected in his latest recording.

It’s been a year since we first spoke, and during that time Evan faced cancelled live appearances due to you know what. However, he took the opportunity to make lemonade out of a lemon and got creative in the only way he knows how.

Carydakis first graced the stage as saxophonist almost 25 years ago. In 2021 he commemorated that milestone with release of the soulful and rhythmic EP, Groove House.

The track reached 21 on the SmoothJazz.com Global 50 and number 45 on the SmoothJazz.com Global Radar Chart.

In fact, ‘Groove House’ was the start of a new conversation with a new audience. That conversation now continues with Movin’ On, which celebrates never looking back, striving for your best self, and living in the moment.

Skillfully led by his strong and muscular saxophone, a solid yet spacious groove, and a sprinkle of sophistication Movin On draws on Carydakis’ formative years where he relied on popular music for inspiration.
